TYRANN MATHIEU, CARDINALS STRIKE DEAL -
The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they have signed 3rd-round draft choice Tyrann Mathieu to a 4-year deal.
Financial terms of the deal were not released, but NFL.com’s Albert Breer reports that the contract is worth $3.52 million and comes with an initial signing bonus of $265,000. The balance of the $662,500 bonus is spread across Year 2, 3 and 4.
The entire contract is guaranteed, with the exception that he is not cut at any time due to drug use.
“I never doubted it,” Mathieu said of signing an NFL contract, via the Cardinals’ team website. “I knew it was a long shot and it would be a process, but to finally sit down and sign my name on the dotted line means a lot to me.”
So basically, Mathieu will be fairly compensated by the Cardinals as long as he stays clean for the next 4 years of his contract. (Photo via ArizonaSports.com)
